‘Kuttiyidal’of a  house is started from the ‘Kannimoola’(South west corner).Understanding the position from a plain, the second ‘Kutti’ is placed on north. Then a third ‘Kutti’ is placed on east on a proper position.

All these three are done by the ‘Kuttikkaran’(The person who does ‘Kuttiyidal’).Then he prepares the plan for construction. Correct and proper measurements of home will be prepared in this stage. Then it is ‘Karuppans’ who build foundation and wall according to this plan. They can have some slight differences in the plan but to make a major change, they should contact the ‘Kuttikkaran’.
